Our 317 Stainless Steel Round Bars are molybdenum-bearing austenitic stainless steel that is more resistant to all-purpose corrosion and pitting/crevice corrosion than the conservative chromium-nickel austenitic stainless steels such as SS 304. Also known as UNS S31700 Bars, these 317 Stainless Steel bars as well give stress-to-rupture, tensile strength and higher creep at high temperatures. These bars contain 3 to 4 % of molybdenum and are chosen to SS 316 which enclose 2 to 3 % of molybdenum in applications that require improved pitting and wide-ranging corrosion resistance.
Our 317L Stainless Steel Bars are austenitic stainless steels by means of having superior molybdenum or molybdenum in addition to nitrogen content that offer even superior resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, and general corrosion, which are as well available in flat-rolled products.
